aka Kumpula freshman cruise

Common Orienteering Cruise for Kumpula Students' Cruise, colloquially known as KJYR, is here again. Traditional name for the festivity is freshman cruise, as it is primarily aimed at freshmen and tutors.

This year the cruise takes you to Stockholm by Silja Serenade. The cruise starts at Helsinki Olympia Terminal Friday, 23th October 17:00 (23.10.) and, according to timetable, we'll return on Sunday, 25th October 10:30 (25.10.) .

Cabins are B- and C-class (randomized) cabins, four persons per cabin. The cruise price depends on your choice of meal(s) but is at least 93.00€ per person, because one 47.00€ buffet meal MUST be bought. Emissions and fuel surcharge (16.00€) is included in the price. Pay the cruise by the DUE DATE to the bank account (IBAN) shown in the e-mail you receive when you register AND PUT REFERENCE NUMBER into reference number field when paying. Otherwise, your student organization will charge you after registration deadline. For meals, you must choose at least one (1) 47.00€ buffet meal, but you can choose additional breakfasts (39.00€ for two breakfasts) and buffets. Their price is calculated in the e-mail you receive after registration. The value of the chosen meals can be used freely in any of the ship's restaurants for food (but not alcohol). Age limit for the cruise is 18 years.

The cruise is organized by the student organization for computer science, TKO-äly ry, but participants include mathematicians, physicists, chemists, geologists, statisticians and geographers. There might be over 700 students from our faculty! Matrix will host a dress competition, but theme is still open.

You can register to your organization's cabin quota and choose an existing cabin with your friends or create a new cabin. Last day to cancel registration without charge is 20.9.2025.
